Firstly, great and warm thanks to those that responded to Chicklet and his story. Your support, both emotionally and toward his costly vet care, have helped us focus on his healing of body and spirit.
Great news,
Chicklet has been able to come home from the hospital recently and will stay here in between his vet visits. He is on quite a few different medications and is required back to the vet hospital several more times, before the day he is ready to find his perfectly loving home. Right now, he is definitely on the mend….we take his care on a day by day approach. What are easy or simple things for all of our rescues are giant steps for this little guy…and celebrated as such.
Baby steps….and giant steps at the same time.
But one day I was sitting in the room with him and he just walked over to me and put his paws in my lap and he has been a tentitive but trusting little guy ever since.
We send more humble thanks for your kind words and donations. If you think you could provide the right home for this especially deserving little man, please let us know.
For now, we continue to focus on bringing him back to a better quality of life than he has ever known. We are still trying to raise the necessary money to cover his ongoing care.
Oh, I’m so glad to see new pics and hear he is on the mend. What a little doll he is! This is just what the doctor ordered for me; to see Chicklet improving and posing like a brave little guy in the chair. It’s just beyond words. Thanks to the Mutt Scouts for this flicker of hope.
I really hope that this little guy finds the forever home that he deserves. I believe in karma and pray that the people who did this to him get whats coming. Thank God for rescue groups that don’t give up so easily!

Oh my gosh! When I first saw this poor little guy I was so sad to think a human being could treat an animal so disgustingly terrible. I was able to contribute to his cause and am so happy that he is improving. I would like updates on this little guy as I really do care about him. Thank God for you guys and taking care of him. You people will have a gold star on your crown in heaven!

This is to say the least very emotional for me! I really don’t have any words that can explain what I feel. Not only for this one, but all of the animals you have! Since I posted Chicklet’s story and chipin page on craigslist, I have gotten some really wonderful emails from people who fall in love with him and want to know more about him. I’m thrilled to answer them by directing them to the rescue blog. Some emails are just extraordinary and I wanted to let people know that I am so honored to hear from them. From the people who can only give $1 to the woman who is a Reiki II practitioner and sending her healing to Chicklet to people who can only send prayers. Whomever did this to Chicklet is the worst of humanity, but you all are the best and I’m very proud to coexist on this planet with you all! I send much love and an elevated HOPE for the future.
